Last week I was lucky enough to be able to attend the L.I.P.S. Beirut Summer Fashion week and witness some major talents from around the world, some of them stood out for me while others didn't. This post is dedicated to the show and the collection that stole my heart.
I have always been fascinated by Fashion Weeks from an early age, and imagined how amazing it would have been to sit and enjoy the marvelous creations right in front of you. Although this is no Paris Fashion Week, it is still an amazing opportunity and a lovely achievement for Lebanon.
I have attended most of the shows every day, but only ONE stood out to me and I can't wait to share with you a glimpse of ERIC TIBUSCH's collection and mind. I had an opportunity to interview this amazing designer and really get to know this man, who in my opinion is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Scroll down to see the interview and some favorite looks from the show. Please enjoy.
What I wore:

1. What does Fashion mean to you?
Fashion is Passion. Fashion is not a job for me, it is simply my passion. I wake up in the morning with new designs and dresses on my mind, I go to sleep and dream of Dresses. It is my everything and I live it.
2. What was the first article of clothing you ever designed?
It was definitely a Trench Coat. I always do trench coats. I also adore the one-leg-pants, which you can constantly notice in my collections.
3. What are your favorite fabrics to work with and why?
I love playing with fabrics and use them in very different ways. Some of the fabrics that I adore are the Crocodile Leather, the muslin, Silk and Lace. I like to take the Lace and work with it in a new way. I cut-in between the lace and recreate a pattern that doesn't exist and I am all about creating something different.
4. What is your favorite piece to create?
I would like to say that my favorite piece to do is the wedding dress, because my clients come to me with a dream that they have savored and dreamt of since they were little girls. And it is my job to create a dress that she imagined and even more. It is so important to respect the woman's vision, since who else but her knows what she really wants.
5. What's the biggest highlight of your career to date?
I would never change anything in my career, I had both good moments and bad, since they made me the man I am today. But I think the best moment was when I did the costumes for the Avatar DVD launch for James Cameron. I did both the men and the women costumes and it was all very exciting for me, since I am a huge fan of cinema and it's reflection on all our lives.
6. What are your plans for the future?
My plan in the near future is the expansion of my fashion house in China. It is going to be the first ever Eric Tibusch store in the world, which would be open the first week of October this year. The Haute Couture House would stay in Paris of coarse, but for me now, Asia is the main concentration. I am planning on opening 5 more stores in 5 years, with a combination of fashion for men and women and a homeward collection.
7. What advice do you have for aspiring fashion designers?
I tell them to make it with passion mainly, and don't forget to be humble and know from where you came from and remember all those people who stood by your side.
